Analysis of Lawyers’ Perception Type about For-Profit Hospitals

Abstract

|
This study is conducted to research the perception type of lawyers toward For-profit Hospitals. This research compares and analyzes the different types of their perception. Research design of this study is Q methodology approach. The study population is 23 lawyers age from 32-69. Q sample to investigate the perception type of the lawyers about For-profit Hospitals included 34 statements obtained from literatures, TV debate, and in-depth interviews of 5 lawyers among the target group. After listening to the purpose and method of the study, the 23 target lawyers agreed to fill out a survey asking sociodemographic information and have been forced to be distributed in 9 scale Q-sample. The collected data was processed through QUANL PC program, sorted into 4 types as followings. The first type was ‘resisting to For-profit Hospitals’, the second ‘supporting For-profit Hospitals’, the third type that worries about For-profit Hospitals and the fourth type that keep neutrality about For-profit Hospitals. Currently, the legislative proceedings of For-profit Hospitals are held and numerous debates on the commercialization of the Hospitals are brought up in the market. In the midst of such situation, this research will help foresee the various conflicts different opinion groups in the future, upon implementing the policy about Hospitals, but moreover, it can also provide objective and scientific data to better reach a social agreement.
